The Kelly house is located
in Keels, a small outport village in northeast
Newfoundland on Bonavista Bay. Originally constructed in the early 1900's, it has undergone a few changes but still maintains
its original charm and character.
There is a bedroom with double
bed on the main floor, and a smaller sitting room with double futon on the second floor as well as a small drawing/painting
studio. Bedding and towels are provided, and are replaced weekly. The kitchen is basic, but includes dishes, utensils, microwave,
small stove, toaster oven, and coffee maker.
The landscape here
is nothing less than spectacular. A rugged coastline with unspoiled beaches is moments away from the house. Solitude is the
rule rather than the exception. Hiking trails offering magnificent vistas are literally at your doorstep, and moose
and eagle sightings are not uncommon.
